WAAS, USGS beacon receivers, and 10+ mile range radios for use with SDI’s reference DGPS base stations are available. The SURVEYCASE uses 12 channel DGPS receivers with sub-meter accuracy and options for RTK cm accuracy. This computer can be upgraded in the future unlike most laptops. Positions, events and operator annotations are exchanged between HYPACK and SDIDEPTH programs. Navigation data and all other collection parameters are saved with all depth soundings. DEPTHPIC and SDIDEPTH software provides convenient replay and reprocessing of hydrographic data without hand digitizing or scaling of position. The depth resolution is maintained regardless of the depth range. 65,536 shades of gray are digitized versus a maximum of 16 shades of gray typical of paper records. IDS provides data play back with high resolution and detail. IDS is a full survey grade depth sounder that digitizes the echo to 16 bit resolution and stores the full digital record on hard disk. The SURVEYCASE includes a DGPS receiver and SDI’s Intelligent Depth Sounder (IDS) integrated with a rugged computer in a single small portable case. The new generation of Bathymetric Survey Systems Display controls and hinges are o-ring sealed and connectors are waterproof or splash resistant. SDI’s hardened computers include internal shock mounted electronics, armored display windows, marine grade aluminum display housings and non-corrosive impact resistant cases, and stainless hardware. SDI’s proprietary display is daylight visible and also dims for excellent night viewing. HYPACK MAX or SmartSurvey provides navigation. SDIDEPTH and DEPTHPIC software provide replay and edit of data.
